92 CITI FM Announcers

I’m a retro girl who loves her glue gun, drunk gardening, roller derby and radio. I like my music loud & my wine big, red & juicy. I grew up military – my dad was an F-18 test pilot – and I guess the travel bug just stuck as working in radio, TV and theatre has taken me all across the prairies, with stops in Edmonton, Lethbridge, Lloydminster and Kelowna, BC. While I’ve lived and travelled all over the world, I’m pretty happy to be putting down roots here in Winnipeg with my fella, the Wine Chef, and our Black Lab/Border Collie named Blue. You can usually find me taking some weird or random class, as I’m a total geek about learning new things. That, or sitting in the sunshine somewhere with a big glass of wine.

Weekdays 6am - 10am
Joe is an Aries who loves romantic movies, fuzzy white bunnies and long moonlit walks? oh, sorry. Wrong bio.
Joe Aiello is a born and raised Winnipegger with the gift of the gab. He began his radio career talking into a wooden spoon as a toddler. Eventually he convinced the Powers That Be at 92 CITI FM to pay him to talk into a real microphone, and the rest, as they say, is history.

.......after growing up in Toronto and starting my career in small town Cobourg, Ont. at a Classical music station, CFMX.....you heard right, not Classic Rock.....Classical music...(it was one of 150 stations across the country I had sent a tape to, out of Radio and Television Arts at Seneca College)....I wanted in so bad, I told them I knew everything about Classical music, and they were kind enough to still let me keep my first job, after they discovered Ididn't. I still remember kindly old Mrs Croft was the landlord of the house where I rented a room and some fridge space. I could usually fit some cheese and a six pack in my alotted slot. I needed little else, outside the burning desire to 'be on the radio' since I was about 5 years old, and listening in the morning to my Mom's favorite station.

If I said I was orally talented, well, that just wouldn't sound right. But I have been using my mouth and random thoughts to make a living for over 20 years now. If I sound familiar, that's because I was apart the 90's 92 CITI, having cut my chops from midnights, to mid-days from 91' - 98'. I took a little Winnipeg to the U.S. and continued down the radio road that led to New Hampshire, Minneapolis and a 8 year stint in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Sunshine, golf and beaches couldn't keep me from my real home. It's F*#% great to be back!

Weekday Evenings & Weekends
I am a child of the 50's. My first introduction to music was by the mighty KY58 in the early 60's. It might have been Elvis, Bobby Darrin or perhaps even the Everly Brothers that first seduced me, but it was radio and the role that the medium played. The songs, the melodies, the chords, the harmonies... this little box became my companion, my escape and my playground.
